Former Band Teacher Tom Indiano

Join us on March 12 at 7 p.m. for a special evening of music as the Sutherland Wind Ensemble performs the world premiere of a newly commissioned piece, “WINKS!”

The work was commissioned in loving memory of Tom Indiano, beloved former Sutherland High School band teacher and saxophonist who passed away this past summer. Rochester-based composer and bandleader Joey Stempien created the tribute piece specifically for the ensemble.

When a die-hard theatre fan plays his favorite cast album, he’s transported to a 1928 Broadway theatre where the recording springs to life—bringing with it a hilarious play within a play featuring two lovers on the eve of their wedding, a bumbling best man, a desperate producer, a tipsy chaperone, and more. The result? An evening of madcap musical comedy you won’t want to miss!
