Under the federal and state Universal Free School Meals program, Pittsford Schools is re-entering the National School Lunch Program and expanding Universal Free Meals to include secondary level students along with elementary students who were included in the program last year. This allows students in all grade levels to have one breakfast and lunch per day at no charge.  

In accordance with the Universal Free Meals program, students may receive one reimbursable breakfast and lunch at no cost when they go through the line. Students who wish to purchase a second meal... 

Sara Pelusio and Jeff Casey

Pittsford Central School District’s Board of Education elected its president and vice president at its annual reorganization meeting on July 14, 2026. Sarah Pelusio was elected as president, and Jeff Casey was elected as vice president.

Mendon High School senior Mesude Yusra Ersoz and Sutherland High School senior Sora Kawakyu-O'Connor have been selected to serve as ex officio members of the Pittsford’s Board of Education for the 2026-27 school year. They will work alongside the district’s seven elected board members to represent student perspectives. Both were chosen by their school principals following a collaborative process involving teachers and student leaders.

Pittsford Central School District congratulates Pittsford Class of 2026 graduates William Harrington (Mendon High School) and Weijun Wang (Sutherland High School) for earning the prestigious title of National Merit Scholars!  They were awarded $2,500 scholarships and were among approximately 6,700 Merit Scholarship® winners from a group of more than 15,000 Finalists and an initial pool of 1.3 million students who took the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT®).

Robyn Paino

The Board of Education will appoint Robyn Paino as Assistant Principal of Jefferson Road Elementary School at its August 11 meeting. Ms. Paino has been with Pittsford Schools since 2019 and will begin her new role on September 1, 2026.

Ms. Paino most recently served as the school counselor at Park Road Elementary School. Prior to that she was a behavioral specialist at Barker Road Middle School. She has an additional six years of experience in school counseling in other school districts.

Pittsford’s 2026-27 Calendar of Schedules and Events is now available on the district website at https://www.pittsfordschools.org/calendar where you can download a PDF of the wall calendar and view and subscribe to the daily online calendar. The calendar was mailed to families of enrolled students in August. Events may change throughout the school year, so please refer to the online calendar for the most up-to-date list of events.

Andrea Lynch, Assistant Principal

Following a thorough search and interview process, Andrea Lynch, current assistant principal of Mendon High School, has been selected as the new assistant principal of Calkins Road Middle School, pending approval by the Board of Education on August 11, 2026.

"Ms. Lynch brings a wealth of institutional knowledge and a deep understanding of our school community to her new role. She is an experienced and thoughtful leader whose comprehensive leadership skills, dedication to students, and collaborative approach. All these traits make her an outstanding assistant principal and a valued colleague to our staff," said Superintendent Shana Cutaia...

The Pittsford Central School District Board of Education appointed Jay Ballard as the District's new Director of Transportation at its July 14, 2026, Board of Education meeting, effective July 27.

Ballard brings nearly three decades of school transportation leadership experience to Pittsford and is skilled at managing safe, efficient transportation systems while fostering strong collaboration across school departments. “Mr. Ballard’s extensive experience leading school transportation departments, along with his collaborative approach and unwavering commitment to student safety, make him an outstanding addition to our leadership team,” said Superintendent Shana Cutaia.
