February Reading Challenge
February "Celebrate Black Voices" Reading Challenge!
Your library is challenging all students and staff to take the February Reading Challenge Pledge to "Celebrate Black Voices!"
By taking the pledge, you agree to read at least one work (book, poem, article, or speech) written by a Black author, about a significant Black person, or about an event impacting Black lives. Read these directions for help getting to the collections. Our hope is that the whole Barker family will participate during the month of February.
Here's what you need to do:
STEP 1: Take the pledge to get started: Reading Challenge Pledge. You will be added to a Teams page for this challenge.
STEP 2: Browse the 4 different "Celebrate Black Voices" collections below to view the variety of reading options available. Then, stop at the library to checkout a book!
- Memoirs & Nonfiction Collection
- Fiction & Graphic Novels Collection
- Picture Books & Poetry Collection
- Shorter Works Collection: Short story collections, essays, and other online articles.
STEP 3: Read something that meets the criteria!
STEP 4: At the end of February, participants will have the opportunity to share their experience, considering these questions...
