Mendon High School’s AP Statistics Class Strikes Gold—Again!
For the 10th year in a row, Mendon High School has taken home the Gold Medal at the Pre-college Statistical Data Analysis Challenge hosted by RIT. Competing against 17 talented teams, Mendon students earned Gold, Silver, and Bronze awards. Since the competition began in 2016, Mendon has held the top spot every year, demonstrating a legacy of excellence in statistical analysis.

During the 2025 Rochester Pre-College Data Science Challenge, “The Ultimate Mission for a Healthier Planet,” students embarked on a mission that combined data science, environmental stewardship, and public health advocacy. Students were tasked with identifying specific connections between environmental challenges and public health issues, and then using data from around the globe to investigate and propose meaningful solutions.
The winning teams will receive certificates of award at a May 3, 2025, awards ceremony on the RIT Campus.
